Testing and making my own wordpress theme

I am going to make my own Medieval Wordpress Theme. I have found a few that I like and what I have decided to do is to borrow from them and make my own.

To do this, I am going to have a temporary index page to my web site and have links to the 4 or 5 themes that I want. I do not want to have to make 5 seperate database installs. So I am here to ask if anyone knows how do make this sort of set up happen?

I am confused … if you are going to make your own theme, why would you need to have 5 seperate database installs?

Put the theme together, upload it as a theme, select that theme in your configuration and that should be that. Or am I missing something?

Am I correct in assuming that you want to build and/or install several themes and then be able to switch between them?

If so, perhaps you’re after a “Theme Switcher” plugin http://goo.gl/tcIYO

If not, then it’s pretty much what mattgoffrey said, simply install the theme in to the themes folder and select it in the Appearance -> Themes section in the WP admin

In either case, you won’t need to have multiple databases
