This is probablly simple. I have a home page but wp is not pulling it up automaticaly

I have created a home page in my wordpress.
As I understand it, once you do that. your url should bring it up directly.
instead it pulls up a diff page it recognizes as home. One I don’t even have.
And home is actually home-2 and you have to click the link to pull it up.

I can’t find where this “initial” home link so I can delete. anyone run across this?
thx

In the WP dashboard go to >Settings>Reading>Static Page and set to the page you want.

Slackr, thank you and good point forgotten about that.
you are right it did the trick.
however…i was under the impression. that if you had a home page published. wp would go to that automatically.
or did i misunderstand?
also i see that the title for the various links show up at the top of the brower tab. the home one doesn’t.
have not seen this before.
thx

Wordpress defaults to its blogging roots and defaults to a Post archive page (for its homepage). If you want a static home page you have to create one first then go and tell WordPress that that is the page you want. You only need to do it once thankfully.

thanks Slackr!
