I’ve just started Kevin Yank’s book PHP & MySQL 5th edition. I’ve installed MAMP correctly on a Mac. I wrote the script today.php as in the book, saved it to htdocs, called it up at localhost on a browser… and got an empty page. It should work, but it doesn’t. The book’s only suggestion is to visit these forums, so here I am.
I checked the file again and saw I’d put a closing bracket in the wrong place. So it was a syntax error. I fixed that and the script now runs.

I don’t have access to the book, so it’s difficult to help you without seeing the code. Could you possibly post the script here or, if it’s too long, put it in a gist and link to it?
