Vertical Text in OpenOffice?

I’m trying to create vertical text as in up and down text. I came across this link
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=38746and within that link there is a message with another link which I already visited. It mentions that to create vertical text you have to convert your language settings to Asian. I tried that with no success anyone have any suggestions?

Note that the thread is from 2006…it’s a bit dated.

If you want to create vertical text, simply click on the text tool, create a text box, type what you want, then (here’s the trick) shrink the width of the text box until you have only one column of letters visible.

Nice tip! Never thought of this, but then again I haven’t come across something that made me want my text vertical. Ooohh now this would be a nice addition to OpenOffice how-to lol … .
