Very Angry

Here is another “SEO” from India asking really simple stuff, like how to get sitelinks for their own SEO site!:
How to show all pages on search query? - Webmaster Central Help

They did not even know they are called “sitelinks”, yet somehow get away with chargeing people money for SEO!

In the case of your competitor, explain the situation to him, and offer to exchange links with him. Might be an opportunity for a future partnership there… no sense burning bridges when he’s already shown his willingness to communicate.

Here is another yet “SEO” from India that has no idea about their own site’s rankings:
why my website dropped in the rankings of Google - Webmaster Central Help

What is it about SEO’s from India, not knowing what they are doing?

Here is yet another:
My blog has removed my google from its Index - Webmaster Central Help

what a hoot!

A friend of mine has hired several “web developers” from India. He asked one of them to finish a script he was working on, a few days later the “web developer” was found posting on a forum asking how to do the work he was supposed to be getting paid for.

I am not going to down the entire country, because I do believe there are a few good hard working people from India, but the ones I’ve worked with personally and the ones I’ve heard about fall far short of the standard.

Good advice here, I would just wait and see if anything happens.

You know, this goes to say with any business you find online. How can you be sure it’s legitamate?? You must be able to put in the work to research a company or service fully before you pay up. Look for customer comments, spam warnings and such. Be smart about who you choose!

I think the best advice is to find someone locally and visit the offices. I just woulnd’t hand over cash to someone I don’t know or who doesn’t have a solid reputation…

Blog commenting is very common approach and if that blogger(your competitor) has any problem with your comments he has rights not to approve it.Its totally white hat technique nothing else.So i don’t think something really happened too bad.And yes you can do SEO by yourself.

Blog commenting using a keyword instead of a real name is unethical more then anything, if your comment is genuine and quality then a link back to your site isn’t a problem. But if your using software that’ll find blogs and post spam comments on thousands of blogs or your posting irrelevant comments, that’s where the problem starts. If its not black hat it’s very close to dark gray .

If you want backlinks, post genuine real and relevant comments!

Nonsense. Blog commenting to get backlinks is parasitic.

oh dear, i know its time consuming but its best you try and do a lot yourself. I havn’t much time either to SEO so I use an English company to do a lot of mine. You can speak to them and I have met the guy who mainly runs the service. Always be sure who you are dealing with, just take this experience away and don’t repeat the mistake twice

Don’t want to offend anyone who’s a legit SEO specialist from India, but I have banned entire IP classes from your country. Yes, it’s not the usual nike/wow/cialis spam I get from others, but mostly people who try to act like “normal” members and post a lot of junk. I am now banning IPs and deleting accounts when I see they come from India. It’s unfortunate, but it’s not me who’s done this disservice.

On another note, if you are displeased with their work routine, TERMINATE THE CONTRACT. There’s nothing worse than being marked as a spammer. It’s better to do a bit of SEO yourself, than lose your potential client’s trust even before you’re getting the word out there.

I´m sorry to say that India is not the only country with a high percentage of spammy sites and spammy seos. Nevertheless, there is no need to offend or generalize.

As it has been said before,
it´s always important to know the people you are working with, your agency, business partners etc.

I do generalize as the majority of “SEOs” who ask for help with the most basic stuff over at Google webmaster help are from India and the vast majority of spam I delete from my forums and blogs come from India. The country deserves the reputation it has got.

Looks like common sense and logic have gone all out of the window.

When you are not willing to pay for quality then you should be ready to get dirt. Its a simple rule anywhere in the world including the ‘holier than thou’ western world.

Hey ‘cbp’ do aussies deserve the reputation of ‘fat racist bstrds’ with criminal genes ?

No, but given all the above, India deserves the reputation of having so many crap and fraudulent SEO’s. How can you defend what has been exposed in this thread? Calling me a racist does not justify what has been exposed here.

Ok guys, I think the thread has run its course and the original poster’s questions/concerns have been addressed. We could do without all the nonconstructive bashing.
