I need to get up to speed on these companies that let you ‘build your own website’ on their property. One is called Wix, and there are apparently a few others. I’m not sure how they work, or if you can upload your own code, but they seem to be geared for non-coders…it vaguely reminds me of America Online, a walled garden perhaps. I got a request from a manager to ‘install an app’ on our site (social media streaming) , and in looking into it, you can apparently only get the app from one of these web hosting companies…I guess it is a bundle. So I am going to need to explain to someone the difference between these types of websites, and the ones I get paid to build!!! What is your experience with them?
