What Do You Need In An E-Commerce Solution?

We’re developing an e-commerce platform. We’ve a fair amount of research on what the market is wanting in terms of features/functionality, as well as what others are offering.

If you have a minute, would you mind outlining what your ideal e-commerce solution would look like?

Specifically:

What would you ideally want it to do?
What would be included?
What functionality would you expect for free?
What functionality would you expect to pay for?
What are your priorities in using a solution? I.e., #1 Customer Service, #2 Access To High-Quality Template Designs, #3 Easy Integration With Other Solutions, etc

Thanks for your help! I can assure you that your suggestions will be heard and taken seriously

Here you go MEOS,

1.- PCI compliance.
2.- Stability (redundant architecture for optimum up-time).
3.- Responsive Support (live chat, phone, email, support tickets).
4.- Access to Source Code (for customization).
5.- Integration with 3rd. party software (Payment Gateways, email marketing, Facebook, Blogs)
6.- SEO tools

Other characteristics will vary depending on the product you want to sell.

  • Gift wrapping.
  • Image uploads.
  • Reocurring billing.
  • Color swatches.
  • Etc.

All tools should come standard where the only thing moving prices up should be Storage Space and Bandwidth.

Good luck!
