Will a change in meta description

Good morning from very sunny 17 degrees C Wakefiled UK & still cant beleive we drew 1:1 against USA :frowning:

This is my question please…
When you type in my company’s name in google I notice as shown in the screen grab above that the description is not not helpfull.

If i added the below bit of code can i maniplate what is said under the main header in the serps?

<META NAME=“Description” CONTENT=“Your descriptive sentence or two goes here.”>

Any insights welcome…

afaik google can use the meta description to show in the serps, but they don’t promise that they will display your meta description if you have it.
