Will Google Leave China?

Yes of course, I have the right to free money, trouble is no one else seems to know about my right and they don’t give me any. Why is that if I have the right to it?

As for google, it wouldn’t surprise me if the US government is involved somewhere along the way.

Yes, that analogy truly proves the non-existence of human rights.

It does if you think about it. Who are you to tell me I don’t have that right? How would you go about proving that I don’t have that right? What is a right? Where do they come from? They’re basically invented by humans to suit themselves and only actually exist if they can either be enforced or if a majority of people give them credence.

We live on a ball of rock floating through the extremely hostile environment of deep space and in our self absorbed way we imagine the universe revolves around us and we talk about ‘our rights’ but rights aren’t real, they’re a figment of our over active human imaginations. Nature doesn’t care a damn about our rights, because they don’t exist. Rights are nothing more than a human arrogance and misguided attempt to structure the behaviour of other humans.

This is another key!
good point…

can be the dawn of new politics?

what exactly did china want google to censor- cause it wasnt porn! havent found a place tht mentions it.

Read Internet censorship in the People’s Republic of China on Wikipedia for an overview. It’s political censorship, not moral censorship.

Try searching for Tienanmen (sp?) in China someday…

I highly doubt they would leave China. Hacking is a lame excuse. We will know the truth behind all these soon.

From a ethical point i think google should leave china but from business point of view china is third biggest revenue generating country after US and india .But i think gooogle should go with ethics and should quit china

It is interesting that you mention revenue. Google’s revenue in China has not exactly been stellar. Their market share is quite low, in fact.

If you check the FAQ we do have a standing rule against political drama in the forum. kohoutek is quite right to step back from a potential argument.

I know quite well chinese in business … you can make business there only if you are chinese or if you let them manage all!

Google and China in Talks Over Search Engine [Report]

Google and the Chinese government have entered talks to discuss the future of Google’s search engine in China, according to Bloomberg.

Good on Google for calling foul! It matters not why or if they pull out completely.

The message is sent. And it’s in the inbox of more than just the Chinese.

Also remember we have a rule here about no discussions on politics.

Good to know… thanks… actually as you can see EVERYTHING can be politics

anyway… now we need to seat and wait… hope for the best for chinese and us all…

Off Topic:

Aye, many discussions can veer toward politics, but we all just need to steer the ship around that iceberg, eh?
