Wordpres -> MetaField on Post Page for Post-Format

I know how to enable post-formats, and check for them within the Loop. However, I don’t want to merley post a link/embed code in the editor and pluck the link or embed code out and pluck it on the single post page…

I want to show a metabox/field on the new/edit post page depending on what type of post-format is selected and in turn use that to display say… video… and still use the editor to have a story for the post.

I’m not looking for anyone to explain all this, but if you could point me in the direction of a series of tutorials if you know of any that would be great.
