What Exactly is the different between wordpress.com and wordpress.org, hope when you sign in for a word press account you might have come across this.

Wordpress.org is the home of the open source WordPress software. It is code you can download and do as you wish with. You can take that code, upload it to your own web hosting, and set up a blog you have complete control of.
Wordpress.com is a blog hosting service. It’s a free web host where instead of getting FTP access to upload your own files, you get a login to a WordPress blog set up for you at sign up, on their servers. You have no direct access to or control of the site, so you can’t install your own plugins or write your own code.
.com is a fully hosted blog service. You just sign up and you have a blog with some templates/options to choose from. Though you are limited on what all you can do with it.
.org is a self hosted version, you download the files, create a database, install WP and then you have full control over it, though it requires a bit of knowledge.
The main advantage of .org, is that you can install themes and plugins, run advertisements, edit the database and modify the PHP source code, its more customizable and serious if you plan to launch a good website/blog.
wordpress dot com allows to create free blog while Wordpress dot org is a place to free download all wordpress plugins, theme and other add-ons.
