Wordpress: .htaccess auto rewrites and crashes site-Boilerplate

Something called Boilerplate writes to my .htaccess file at http://alcohol-abuse-and-addictions-agency.co.uk causing a crash each time, additionally 404 errors happen all the time. permalinks are set to custom. If I delete it the site comes back though the permalink error persist:

Hi everyone. In the end what seems to have made the difference is the changing og the permissions at cpanel file manager to 774. Some may think that a bit high. Any comments welcome.Hope this helps you out as I hyave been seeing that a lot of people have same problem.
