Right, I have purchased a new theme but when I install/ edit it on Wordpress it messes with my current theme which obviously I don’t want changing until I’m ready to release the new look.
So I have set up another Wordpress on my host to use so I can set this new theme up and edit it until I’m ready for it to go live.
Question I have is - once I’m ready to release it how easy, if possible is it to transform this edited theme onto my live Wordpress/website?
all you’ll have to do is upload the modified theme and thats it. however if certain aspects of the website are affected by content and you wish to move the entire site in one go, content and all, thats slightly more difficult but basically you just have to copy the database to the new server, modify the config.php and upload all of the files
No it won’t be any content? It’s literally just the edited version of the theme.
How do I download and then upload to the other Wordpress though?
Have you tried FTP? There are also some good plugins, such as Theme Switcher that may help.
