I have a family member who runs a Wordpress site and would like to find a plugin which prevents access to the site without registering/logging in first. Ideally when an unauthenticated user accesses the site a overlay would appear that requires a user to register or first login before viewing the content. I have explained that this is a bad idea but they insist otherwise. Can anyone point me to some plugins that would accomplish this behavior.
Hi oddz
Slightly surprised when I saw your name tired to WP
Just found this which might be helpful.
It’s also worth mentioning that the newest version of WordPress automatically redirects http://website.com/admin to the correct wp-admin URL.
Not sure if the above is what you want…
A plugin which seems updated with good reviews - http://10up.com/plugins/restricted-site-access-wordpress/

A family member put together a site themselves and it is gaining some traction. They asked me about this and I’m not about to do anything but recommend a plugin. Simply put… because I hate WP.
I hope this will help you

Ha, likewise!
I don’t bother with it myself either, and I’m sure this is the last you want to hear of it (:
Though the plugin I suggested should do the trick from what I can gather.
And slightly off topic, thanks again for recommending EFQs, been doing a lot of work with this… haven’t touched Views since.
