not released yet though

If you read the article it tells you that it won’t be available until fall or winter of this year.

I bought esex.xxx through new.net .

But i didn’t know people needed a plug in to view the domain, so i complained and i have been given a full refund.

Whatever you do, don’t buy through new.net

If you do buy through them, your domain will be whatever.xxx.new.net thats the only way to get people to see it who don’t have the plug in, to add .new.net on the end.

This is a good topic. How can the common developer secure a .xxx domain in the fall when they are released? The giant porn kings are going to grab as many domains as they can the instant they are released, but what chance do we have?

It takes money to make money. They’ve got the money so they’ve got the power.

yup…money to make money…

it cost $ 60 per .xxx domain i think…quite expensive imo…

the release of .euro is what i like…lol

The money doesn’t bother me. I’m just looking for a good place to help me secure the domains I want when they are released.

you mean .eu?

I want to register some domains for a business I hope to open in Europe, but I doubt I’ll be able to register the .eu names I want. Maybe I can find myself a domain partner to buy them for me.

Anyone can reg a .xxx when they are released .

sex.xxx is already trademarked by the person who owns the .com, and a couple more are already trademarked.

But…

Mainly in the adult webmaster world they are shunning the .xxx and about 96% are against it and say they are not going to buy them.

Just gotta wait and see when there released, if anyone buys them or not.

The main keywords will be taken quickly though.

First off, my little pony was popular when I was like 7. Does anyone under 18 have any interest in my little pony? Serious question.

Second, I typed “my little pony” into Google and I got what looked like my little pony sites. There was, of course, “Porn Star or My Little Pony” but it is satirical, not pornographic. I think anyone not mature enough for it would find it boring. Am I missing something?

you mean .eu?

yup

Yeah…and I still bet that they will be lining up to get some of the high profile names.

You got that right.

I bought esex.xxx through new.net .

But i didn’t know people needed a plug in to view the domain, so i complained and i have been given a full refund.

Whatever you do, don’t buy through new.net

Your loss. Because someone took your New.net domain and you made a decision without all the facts.

I already purchased a number of .xxx domains from New.net. For example, www.callgirl.xxx, www.stripper.xxx, www.dancers.xxx.

It’s obvious that you haven’t done your research on this matter. Prior to puchasing a domain from new.net, I did some heavy research into the matter. Believe it or not, I even spoke to the head guy at ICMregistry. The company that will distribute the ICANN approved extensions. Now this is what I uncovered that I think you will find very interesting and there could be profit down the road for many people if they know how to use it:

First, .xxx extensions from New.net can be reached by millions of people simply by typing in that extension into their browsers without the plug- in. How? New.net has contracted with affiliates who have inserted their source code into their applications and are continuing to contract with more affiliates. For example, did you know that “Earthlink” is an affiliate with New.net and any one of their clients who enters “www.esex.xxx” into any browser will get your site without the plug in. Now, the plug in is a second means to reach you for users who are not working through their affiliates. Thus, there will exist a “conflict” with users having the same domain name as you via ICMregistry.

Second, Now, there are people who got wiser and are trying to profit from the “confusion” this is already bringing about. They have already started auctioning off .xxx domains from New.net on eBay. However, like this current past auction on eBay that resulted in a $500 sale for a $35 site, buyers are not aware that the domains are not ICANN approved. In fact, this eBay seller fraudulently stated that his domain was ICANN approved. Some just don’t even understand what that means. Think about this, in November when the ICMregistry releases the .xxx extensions, what do you think all those millions of buyers using “Earthlink” are going to think when they see an eBay auction and the domain www.esex.xxx. Especially when they punch in that domain name into their browsers and they actually get your site because Earthlink is an affiliate of New.net. They are going to be willing to pay you a lot of money.

Third, no one can trademark the word “sex”. It’s part of the English language. It’s simple to understand. The word has been used in the English language from the beginning. Thus, no one can just trademark it. If that was the case, we could trademark the entire dictionary. Hertz, Avis, eBay, Sony, these are trademarks. Therefore, if there is a person who doesn’t have “trademark” rights, it will be “first come first serve”. If your concerned that you may not get the domain your looking for then just go to XXXregistry.org and “Pre-Register”. They will use their systems to give you an advantage and speed. Plus, you can submit your own manual requests at the same time to give yourself a better chance. If your lucky, you can turn that $60 investment into a few thousand dollars within minutes. Plus, the $35 investment from New.net into an few thousand. I know that New.net has a lot of good domains left. You just have to look for them.

Fourth, The issue here is not that your domain name is not worth anything. In fact, the ICANN’s approval of the .xxx extensions has made New.net’s .xxx extensions more valuable. The question is what is the ICANN going to do about it when millions of users are redirected to New.net’s domains? ICANN had originally rejected the use of .xxx extensions. After this rejection, New.net picked it up. What will ICANN do? Attempt to stop New.net from utilizing the .xxx extension and cause many to loose so much of their invested money? I see a lawsuit, which you could benefit from. It may be established that you lost thousands. The smart thing for ICMregistry and the ICANN to do is work with New.net because if they don’t, I’m seeing a lot of confusion happening here. Plus, a lot of people are about to make a lot of money with their New.net .xxx domains. I see some millionaires coming out of this fast.

Nevertheless, you really don’t know what can happen; but without taking chances, you won’t get anywhere in life.

Good luck and see you on the selling block.

So you recommend committing fraud?

Also, new.net’s fake domain extensions are worthless and new.net would lose a lawsuit in a hurry. There’s no money to be made here by honest people.

None of those domains work because I don’t have the stupid plug-in. Those domains will be completely useless and I bet ICANN will probably revoke any of new.net’s .xxx domain names to try and avoid confusion.

ICANN makes the rules, not new.net. I have a strong feeling your going to wish you didn’t go through new.net this fall.
