I’m making a new website for a client.
The client requested that I use the font “Segoe Print Regular” and provided me with the appropriate ttf file.
This font appears to be a Microsoft font, as you can see here: http://www.fonts.com/font/microsoft-corporation/segoe-print/regular
My questions:
Is it legal to use this font on a webpage without any kind of licence? (I’m strongly suspecting it isn’t)
If I need a licence, where could I find out about getting one?
So, you would agree with me that my client needs to get a licence if he wants that font to be viewable on all browsers (not just ones running on Windows)?
Since posting my question, I found this page: Segoe Print - Version 5.00
At the bottom there is a link to “License Segoe Print font for use with CSS @font-face rule in websites” which in turn points at http://www.fonts.com
My initial concern had also been that fonts.com was not a serious site (as I had never heard of it).
