From where a blog can get so much traffic?

Hi!

How can a blog have more than 1 million pages views per month and almost all of them are realized not by people that searched on Google? They come as subscribers or from some external directory or site?
The blog is althouse.blogspot.com and its stats can be seen on Site metter link on its page.

Maybe they have some kind of affiliation with other sites ?
